How do they work?
Voyis’ Discovery Stereo Systems delivers unified optical capability for subsea vehicles, spanning real-time perception, 3D modelling, and certified inspection. The Discovery Stereo combines high-resolution stereo imaging, powerful Nova Mini lighting, and onboard edge processing to unlock optical capabilities from autonomous navigation to mission-critical inspections.
From live piloting and vehicle awareness to metrically accurate 3D models, Discovery Stereo enables vehicles to see, understand, and measure the underwater world reliably and in real time.

Engineered for advanced subsea inspections, with accurate 3D modeling and real-time point-clouds for general inspections and metrology. Encased in 4000 meter rated titanium housing for deep sea operations.

The Discovery Stereo Systems deliver sharp stereo imagery with integrated positioning data, powered by Voyis’ proprietary calibration process and verified accuracy. This combination enables reliable 3D reconstruction for inspection, precise measurement, and general visual inspection (GVI) applications.
The Inspection Series features Certified Inspection Accuracy, with independently verified 3D measurement performance by Bureau Veritas. Every unit is validated through Voyis’ proprietary in-house calibration process, ensuring consistent and dependable measurement results in the field.
3D MODELING
Designed for 3D Inspection
The compact Discovery camera simultaneously captures video plus crisp stills images with integrated navigation data to enable effective wide area photogrammetry. Corrected images are simply dropped into the software to generate stunning 3D models.
The Discovery Stereo offers 3D pointclouds in real-time using stereo images to generate depth maps with onboard processing. These real-time onboard models can be utilized by the vehicle for autonomy applications like manipulator control, stationkeeping, and navigation.
Deep Vision Optics (included with the Inspection Series) improves image clarity and depth of field, enhancing feature detection in both quantity and quality, which boosts photogrammetry accuracy and reduces processing time with minimal manual intervention.
ENABLING AUTONOMY
Innovative Integration
The Discovery leverages a cutting-edge robotics architecture to simplify and enhance integrations into subsea vehicles. The cameras directly support DDS (data distribution standard) ensuring all output data types are published over the vehicle network for streaming to multiple endpoints. The API directly supports ROS2 vehicle operating systems, drastically simplifying adoption.
Cameras come with the compact integrated Nova Mini lights, which are designed to minimize power draw, synchronize to the camera, and evenly illuminate the camera’s field of view with over 60,000 lumens per light.
