About the Vehicle

The Poseidon Lanai XL is a high-performance ROV designed to deliver exceptional power and control in a compact platform. With 3 kW of available power, powerful lateral thrusters, and true six-degrees-of-freedom control, the Lanai XL is built to handle demanding subsea operations and support a wide range of payloads. Integrated with Voyis imaging technology, the platform enables high-quality underwater data capture and advanced visual inspection capabilities, bringing powerful imaging to missions typically reserved for larger work-class ROVs.

Discovery Stereo I-Series

Our advanced stereo camera to enable accurate subsea inspections and detailed 3D reconstructions.

“At Poseidon Robotics, we believe the customer ultimately cares about one thing: the finished data. The ROV is simply the platform that needs to reliably get the camera where it needs to go and hold it steady enough to produce the best possible results. That philosophy drove the development of our Lanai X and Lanai XL systems, which were designed from the ground up around the Voyis Discovery Stereo VSLAM camera.

We focused on creating a compact, highly maneuverable platform that could carry the camera in an optimal position, provide the connectivity and power required for V-SLAM and lighting, and maintain stable flight in all orientations. The vehicle is small enough to deploy by hand and move through tight spaces, while still powerful enough to operate in challenging currents.

We also wanted to simplify the complexity traditionally associated with advanced ROV systems. Our SQUID tether connector system integrates the fiber-to-Gigabit Ethernet conversion and power supply within the tether system, reducing the need for operators to manage or troubleshoot fiber optics in the field.

The Lanai X and XL were built around a simple idea: use the smallest vehicle that can reliably produce high-quality data. Working with Voyis has allowed us to turn that idea into a purpose-built system for high-resolution 3D mapping and subsea documentation”
