REPMUS 2025 brought together navies, researchers, and technology leaders in Portugal to test the latest advancements in maritime autonomy. Recognized as NATO’s leading exercise for unmanned systems, the event focuses on how cutting-edge technologies enhance security, collaboration, and situational awareness at sea.

Voyis was proud to participate in REPMUS 2025, showcasing how our underwater optical sensors and imaging solutions are transforming autonomous naval operations with greater clarity and actionable intelligence.

Demonstrating the Discovery Stereo Camera with Deep Trekker ROV

At the event, Voyis demonstrated the Discovery Stereo Camera integrated with the Deep Trekker Revolution ROV. Navy representatives from around the world piloted the ROV themselves and experienced Voyis’ real-time capabilities, including:

  • The Voyis VSLAM Powered by EIVA NaviSuite Data Quality Control for ensuring complete survey coverage and accurate navigation.
  • Augmented piloting features that improved operator spatial awareness underwater.
  • Real-time optical enhancement, delivering sharper, clearer imaging during live operations for faster decision making.

This demonstration allowed military stakeholders to see firsthand how Voyis technology supports reliable, efficient subsea operations in challenging naval environments.

Capturing Unexpected Marine Life

During testing, Voyis’ Discovery Stereo Camera also captured high-resolution imagery of an octopus on site. While a fun and unexpected discovery, it highlighted the system’s ability to reveal detailed views of marine life and underwater ecosystems, an added benefit beyond defence and security applications.

Equally important, the demonstration underscored our ability to produce clear, high-resolution imagery even in turbid water conditions. In many defence operations, operators must rely on visual data to make time-sensitive decisions during critical missions. By delivering enhanced detail and clarity in real time, Voyis technology provides users with the confidence needed to act decisively underwater.

Italian Navy Deploys Voyis Imaging Payload on REMUS

Voyis solutions were also in the spotlight through our collaboration with the Italian Navy, who demonstrated their REMUS unmanned underwater vehicle (UUV) equipped with a Voyis integrated imaging payload. This showcased the versatility of our sensors and their operational value across different autonomous maritime platforms.

More broadly, integrating high-resolution optical payloads into UUVs is becoming increasingly critical for modern defence operations. Imaging sensors enable navies to conduct detailed inspections, enhance situational awareness, and validate mission success without requiring divers or crewed assets. By combining autonomous platforms with advanced optical data, defence forces can operate more safely, efficiently, and with a higher degree of confidence in complex underwater environments.

Supporting the Future of Maritime Autonomy

REPMUS 2025 reinforced the critical role of advanced sensing in unmanned maritime systems. Voyis is proud to support NATO allies and global navies with high-resolution underwater cameras and VSLAM-enabled solutions, enabling greater confidence in underwater navigation, inspection, and mission success.

As autonomous systems continue to evolve, Voyis remains committed to illuminating the unknown and delivering the technology that drives the future of maritime security and ocean exploration.
