Voyis is proud to be a part of the Covelya group alongside other admirable companies. Covelya Group companies operate in various sectors within the energy, science, defence and commercial markets. They develop, manufacture, sell and support instruments, systems, and solutions worldwide.
Today we are happy to introduce you to EIVA and discuss how our technologies can work together.
Who is EIVA?
EIVA is an engineering company with over 40 years of experience in the offshore and shallow water construction and survey industries. They provide software, equipment, integrated system solutions, rental services, 24/7 support and software training to a wide range of segments, covering virtually any subsea task.
With a product portfolio that includes: market-leading 3D navigation, data editing and visualisation software for subsea inspections of any type, software for automated and remote operations, such as ROV (Remotely Operated Vehicle) inspections, innovative solutions to enhance and expand AUV (Autonomous Underwater Vehicle) capabilities, software for shallow water, waterway and harbour surveys carried out with manned and unmanned vessels, 3D dredging software for high-precision and efficient operations, software for advanced cable route planning and real-time cable lay operations, market-leading software for rig move positioning and anchor/riser simulation, virtual buoys and data buoys.
Voyis and EIVA: Hardware and Software for Subsea Autonomy
Together, Voyis and EIVA offer a complete solution for autonomous subsea operations, from offshore energy inspections to ocean science studies.
To enable efficient underwater pipeline inspections, we created a compact AUV-based solution, the Recon AUV Payload – together with L3Harris and Wavefront. The Payload is equipped with Voyis underwater laser scanner and colour imaging system and EIVA’s NaviSuite Deep Learning software for automated eventing.
The Recon AUV Payload enables low-cost laser and stills pipeline inspection from small AUVs (Autonomous Underwater Vehicles), efficient onboard data processing and reporting with EIVA’s NaviSuite software onboard and can also be used for MCM (mine countermeasure) operations and marine research.
By combining hardware and software, the Payload enables true subsea autonomy, as high-resolution laser data and still images are corrected and processed in real-time. This joint solution increases the speed and quality of remote decision-making processes for surveying subsea assets by delivering higher resolution data on pipeline and anode conditions and processing it in real-time with machine learning algorithms. This will reduce or eliminate the need for personnel to operate in hazardous marine environments.
Integrating multiple sensor datasets through data fusion and automated data processing workflows will enable complete automation of pipeline defect identification.
AUVs and ROVs can leverage streamlined software and hardware solutions
In addition to our AUV-based solution, the two companies’ solutions also complement each other for ROV projects. The Perception ROV Skid comes integrated with our Insight Micro underwater laser scanner and stills camera and can come as a total ROV solution with EIVA’s NaviSuite Mobula for autonomous navigation and data analysis/visualization/processing.
The Insight Micro laser data provides both qualitative and quantitative results to offer complete certainty in the condition of underwater assets, and it is easy to identify where it needs repair. This level of detail is critical in discussing autonomy and enabling robotic systems to make decisions unsupervised. EIVA’s NaviSuite Mobula ensures proper datasets are collected, offering quality control on data, as you can visualize what has been captured, with appropriate overlaps for confident data coverage.
EIVA and Voyis offer a complete solution for efficient and reliable underwater inspections. By combining our high-resolution laser data and still images corrected in real time, with EIVA’s navigation and processing software, users can achieve fast results and subsea autonomy.
