Voyis and CGuard to Demonstrate Advanced Optical Imaging for Mine Countermeasures at REPMUS 2026

Voyis is heading to Portugal for REPMUS 2026, where we’ll join our partners at CGuard to demonstrate how high-resolution underwater optical imaging can support safer, more efficient mine countermeasure (MCM) operations.

REPMUS has become a leading international exercise for demonstrating and advancing maritime uncrewed systems, bringing together NATO forces, industry, academia and technology providers to explore how autonomous and remotely operated systems can transform underwater operations.

For Voyis, this provides an opportunity to demonstrate a capability at the intersection of underwater robotics, high-resolution 3D imaging and maritime defence.

Bringing high-resolution vision to MCM operations

As underwater missions become increasingly reliant on uncrewed systems, the ability to capture detailed, actionable information from the subsea environment is becoming more important.

At REPMUS, Voyis will work with CGuard to demonstrate a Voyis Discovery Stereo camera system integrated with CGuard’s ROV platform.

The combined system is designed to provide operators with detailed optical imagery and 3D data of underwater objects and the surrounding environment. This information can support the identification and assessment of objects of interest while reducing the need for personnel to operate directly in potentially hazardous environments.

For MCM operations, this type of capability can be particularly valuable. High-resolution optical data can complement other subsea sensors and provide operators with the visual information needed to better understand an object, document its condition and make more informed decisions.

From Underwater Imagery to Actionable 3D data

Traditional underwater inspection often relies on video feeds that provide operators with a live view of the environment. While valuable, video alone can make it challenging to accurately assess the size, shape, position and characteristics of an object.

Voyis’ stereo imaging technology adds another dimension.

By capturing synchronized imagery from multiple viewpoints, Discovery Stereo can generate high-resolution 3D information from the underwater environment. This enables objects and structures to be viewed and measured in three dimensions, creating a richer dataset for analysis and documentation.

For defence and MCM applications, this can help provide:
